Born and bred in the wild, this large, beautiful, and intelligent animal learned of hardship early.  Before Talmaryn had been born, her sire, a large Siberian tiger, had been shot and killed hunting for food.  She was born into a litter of three, the other two being males. Her mother, a rather smallish white Siberian, had a hard time feeding the cubs due to the lack of help, and taught Tal to hunt at an early age to help support the rest.  A year after their birth, Tal and her family went hunting, unfortunately the animal they were chasing tipped off an avalanche that buried their mother. Tal knew better than to stick around there, and immediately ran off to begin living on her own. Her brothers... who couldn't bear to tear themselves from their mother... were killed by poachers, leaving Tal the only one left of her family.  No more than a month later, hungry and desperate, Tal came upon a farm with many cattle, she killed and ate one of the smaller sickish ones.  The farmer was quite upset at this, and was rather cruel to begin with, cursed her (and all her children, though she doesn't know it).  The curse entailed her going through a painful transformation on the new moon of every month. From tiger to human and back again, most usually in the span of 24 hours.

In the beginning of her curse, she spent much of her time laying on the ground, unable to walk or even move, but slowly she gained control of her new body, and even began venturing out among the real humans, she's made a few friends, and seems to be finding a kind of balance in her new life.  With her cubs, Tally and Dove, and her mate's cubs, Galen and Delsus, and their new edition... life goes wonderfully.
