Born to a far away desert tribe, Tahirah was trained from birth in the arts of fighting.  She excelled wonderfully and everyone in her Tribe knew that some day she would probably become part of the Chieftain's gaurds... maybe even one of his wives.  

    When Tahirah was 8 and out on an expedition with her family, a hawk, Saarik by name, found her.  Immediately drawn to the innocent, strong Tahirah, the super-intelligent hawk appointed himself her guardian, and managed to establish a telepathic link with her.   

    As Tahirah grew the people around her became more and more certain of her future... that is everyone except her.  When the day came for the new Chieftain to choose a wife, he did in fact ask Tahirah, who vehemently refused, cause for instant banishment.

    Taking what she could carry, and with Saarik in the lead, she wandered across the desert until she reached RhyDin.  Her arrival was simple, and she and Saarik found a small glade to bed down in.  They stayed there for a few weeks, strangers occasionally passing by, and Saarik viciously defended the small woman he saw as his.

   One night a witch wandered in to their glade... and asked to speak to Saarik, alone.  What ever it was that passed between them, when Tahirah was allowed to return, she found herself face to face with pretty much the man of her dreams... Saarik in human form.  That night Saarik showed her something he'd always promised to... and at the same time, she became pregnant.

   Tahirah's now had their daughter, and Saarik changes form freely between bird and human, and they're both very happy.
